The rose gold chain and other components are brass based and nickel free. It is beautiful quality and very shiny! However, brass will naturally tarnish when exposed to oxygen, but it can be easily cleaned with a wipe of normal jewellery cleaning cloth to restore its brilliant shine! Try to keep the jewellery dry and avoid contact with water. Inevitably, it will tarnish over time especially in areas that receive more contact, such as the clasp, due to being exposed to natural oils in our skin. But it only takes a few seconds to get that shine back! All silver jewellery is silver plated. Always store silver-plated jewellery in a cool, dry place (plastic re-closeable bag will work just fine) and clean with regular jewellery polishing cloth.
